Former Lipa Mayor Meynardo Sabili named urban poor commission chair

MANILA, Philippines — Former Lipa City Mayor Meynardo Sabili was appointed as chairperson of the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor, the Palace said on Wednesday.

According to the Presidential Communications Office, Sabili took his oath of office before Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.

Sabili served as mayor of Lipa City from 2010 to 2019. He was also a member of the Batangas Provincial Board from 1991 until 2001.

Bersamin also administered the oath of office of Stephen Cruz as chairman of the Board of Directors of the Philippine Postal Corporation.
