Cavite bust: Shabu worth P340,000 seized from ‘high-value’ drug suspect

LUCENA CITY — Police anti-narcotic agents on Wednesday arrested a suspected “high-value” drug trafficker and seized P340,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in Dasmariñas City, Cavite.
1Members of the Cavite drug enforcement unit, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency agents, and local cops arrested “Edwin” at around 5:30 p.m. during a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Juan 1, the Police Region 4A said in a report Thursday, Aug. 22.
The law enforcers confiscated from the suspect two plastic sachets of meth weighing 50 grams and a mobile phone that the police will examine for drug transaction records.
Authorities are investigating the source of the drugs.
The suspect was considered a high-value individual (HVI) in the illegal drug trade.
He was detained and will face a formal complaint of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
