LUCENA CITY — Police anti-narcotics operatives arrested a suspected “high-value” drug trafficker and seized more than P4 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) in San Antonio, Quezon on Saturday night (August 3).

Colonel Ledon Monte, Quezon police chief, in a report on Sunday (August 4) said the  combined operatives from the provincial drug enforcement unit, local police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) collared a certain “Jherome,” 25 years old.

The law enforcers seized from the suspect five plastic sachets of meth weighing 200 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P1,360,000.

The confiscated illegal substance is worth P4,080,000 in the street market at the prevailing price of P20,400 per gram, according to the police.

Authorities are tracking down the source of shabu allegedly peddled by the suspect, who was classified as a “high-value” target in the war on illegal drugs.

Monte commended the residents of San Antonio and the law enforcers behind the successful anti-illegal operation.

“The trust and cooperation of the citizens with their police force are effective weapons against crimes,” he said.

The suspect was detained and will face a formal complaint for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
