LUCENA CITY — A 53-year-old overseas Filipina worker (OFW) was shot and killed on Monday, July 15, by riding-in-tandem gunmen in Lobo town in Batangas province.

Lorna Babao, single, was on her way home at 11:23 a.m. aboard a tricycle with her mother when the gunmen,  who were riding a motorcycle,  appeared and repeatedly shot her using a caliber .45 pistol in Barangay Balatbat, the Region 4A police said in a report on Tuesday, July 16.

The assailants sped off after the shooting.

Babao, a resident of Balatbat, suffered a fatal gunshot wound on her nape and died on the way to the Lobo Municipal Hospital.

Her mother and the tricycle driver were left unharmed.

The police were investigating the incident further to identify the killers and establish the motive behind the shooting.
