LOOK: MMDA unveils parts of Roxas Boulevard Promenade

MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) unveiled two areas of the four-part Roxas Boulevard Promenade in Pasay City on Thursday.

Located between the Libertad Pumping Station and the intersection of Edsa and Roxas Boulevard, the site encompasses about 1.7 hectares and is composed of four areas: Area 1 for satellite offices, Area 2 for light park, Area 3 for active park zone, and Area 4 for parking and play areas.

The project is an interagency collaboration, with the MMDA as the main proponent and implementer, the Philippine Reclamation Authority as the landowner, the Pasay City government as a partner, and the Federal Land Inc. as a private sector partner.

Areas 1 and 2 were unveiled to the members of the press in an inauguration ceremony right after a groundbreaking ceremony for Areas 3 and 4.

The light park is situated adjacent to the satellite offices. It features light attractions and installations designed to create a lively atmosphere.

According to the MMDA, the Roxas Boulevard Promenade not only transforms a once-neglected area into a vibrant community but also emphasizes the importance of a dynamic and inclusive public space in the National Capital Region.
