Cebu leg of PBaRS opens
RANKING points and possible slots on the national team are on the line as the MVP Sports Foundation-Philippine Badminton Ranking System (PBaRS) circuit kicks off today at the Metro Sports Center in barangay Lahug, Cebu City.
The first day of action is looking to be a hectic one as 63 singles matches and eight doubles games have been slated in the five-day tournament, which is the kickoff leg of the three-leg circuit that aims to provide the country’s leading shuttlers and upcoming stars an avenue where they could hone their talent and skills.
The tour, featuring the Open, Under-19 and U-15, is also aimed at discovering fresh talents, especially from the countryside, who could be tapped, developed and trained to become members of the national pool, now handled by Olympic gold medal coach Rexy Mainaky.
