The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) says a total of 389 elementary and high school educators passed the June 2024 Special Professional Licensure Exam for Professional Teachers. INQUIRER FILES

MANILA, Philippines — The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) said 137 of 274 elementary educators and 252 of 478 high school teachers passed the Special Professional Licensure Exam for Professional Teachers held last month.

In a July 5 advisory, the PRC named Jovelle Salamanca of the University of Santo Tomas as the topnotcher among elementary teachers-examinees for earning a 90.80 percent rating. She is followed by Jenefer Gregorio from the Pangasinan State University-Asingan at second place with a 86.80 percent rating.

Three other passers ranked third for garnering a score of 86.20 percent rating, namely: Jihada Hadjula from the Sulu State College; Hecel Misola from the Gordon College (for Olongapo City College); and Dyan Yap from the Manuel Enverga University Foundation-Catanauan.

Likewise, the commission said the first-placer in the licensure exam for high school teachers is Suzeth Ancheta of the University of the Philippines-Baguio City as she scored 92.60 percent. Ranked second was Mara Baybay of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, who scored 89.80 percent, followed by Marites Talape of the Abra State Institute of Science and Technology-Bangued, who scored 89.20 percent.

The regulator said the licensure exam for high school educators had a 52.72 percent passing rate.

The June 2024 Special Professional Licensure Exam for Professional Teachers were conducted on June 18 in Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates; Al Ahmadi in Kuwait; Al-Khobar, Jeddah, and Riyadh in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Doha in Qatar; Manama in Bahrain; and in Singapore.
