Bakud Party to fill-in vacant PB seat
THE Bakud Party will be filling up the vacated seat of Cebu Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale in the Provincial Board (PB).
Magpale said the party will be meeting again to discuss about it since the election protest of businessman Glenn Soco has been recently dismissed by Comelec en banc.
In an interview on Monday, Magpale said she 4would want that the Legislative Assistance Fund (LAF) of the PB for the fifth district will be utilized.
Magpale was the number one board member in 2010. She replaced the late vice governor Gregorio Sanchez Jr. who died of of cancer in April 2011, leaving her seat. She represented the 5th district in the Provincial Board.
She emphasized that while the seat has been vacated since last year, she has been providing assistance to the 5th district with the use of the funding from the vice governor’s office.
And since Magpale is a member of Bakud, it will also be a Bakud member who will be filling up the position. His son, Danao City Councilor Miguel Antonio Magpale is one being eyed to fill-up the position. Miguel garnered the second highest number of votes as councilor in Danao City.
Article continues after this advertisementThe announcement of her replacement in the PB in the 5th district will have to be announced by the end of the month together with the party’s announcement of its political plans in 2013.
Article continues after this advertisementIt is set that the party will make the announcement by the end of the month. Currently, PB member Jude Sybico is the only PB member from the fifth district.
