Marcos sees end of Northern Samar insurgency within his term
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday remains confident that insurgency in Northern Samar will end within his term.
In an ambush interview in Tacloban, Marcos was asked about his pronouncements about ending local insurgency.

“Yes. I’ve seen the progress report, it’s getting better and better,” said Marcos.
The President said that there are still encounters but they are not large in number. He also said that the insurgents’ numbers are dwindling.
