ML workers plant mangroves in Bacolod
THE officers and members of M. Lhuillier OPEC-Negros Jewellers headed by regional manager Eric Garces pledged to preserve and protect the marine environment as they planted mangroves in barangay Punta Taytay, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.
A total of 500 mangrove propagules provided by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources were planted by the group on June 11.
The group did not mind the muddy shoreline, saying it was a worthwhile activity and of great help in preserving and protecting the watershed and rehabiliting coastal areas.
The activity had the theme “Puno ko, Sagip Buhay mo.”
