MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila and the eastern part of Luzon may anticipate hotter weather on Saturday due to the ridge of a high pressure area, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

The presence of the ridge of a high pressure area means there would be less cloud formation and higher maximum temperatures – hence, a slim chance of rain.

“Itong ridge o extension ng isang high pressure area ang patuloy na umiiral sa silangang bahagi ng ating Luzon,” Pagasa expert Daniel James Villamil said in an early morning weather forecast.
