First couple celebrates 31st wedding anniversary

MANILA, Philippines — On their 31st year of marriage, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos posted photo collages of themselves on social media to greet each other on their special day.

“Thank you for a wonderful 31 years of marriage,” read the caption of Marcos’ post on his Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Liza also posted a collage on the same social media platforms that includes a photo of them during their wedding in 1993, their renewal of vows in Italy in 2018, and a photo taken inside the Malacañan Palace in 2024 with a message, “Happy 31st anniversary!!”

According to the president’s website, Marcos and Liza tied the knot on April 17, 1993, at the San Francesco Convent in Fiesole, Italy.

They have three sons: Ilocos Norte 1st District Representative Sandro Marcos, Joseph Simon, and William Vincent “Vinny.”

During their 30th wedding anniversary last year, the president asked his wife to marry him again.

He also penned a sweet message for the First Lady.

“She said yes (again)!” Marcos wrote in a Facebook post.

“30 years later there is still no place I’d rather be and no person I’d rather be with. Liza, you will always be the girl of my dreams,” he added.
