Rapidly spreading fire leaves man hurt in Parañaque
A man was injured in a massive fire that tore through an informal settler community in Parañaque City on Tuesday evening, destroying numerous homes before firefighters could bring it under control.
The blaze started at 8:42 p.m. in the Tramo 2 area of Barangay San Dionisio, a residential district where most houses were made of light materials.

Firemen responded quickly as the fire alert was upgraded to the first alarm at 8:52 p.m., followed by the second at 8:54 p.m., and the third three minutes later.
A total of 17 firetrucks were sent to the scene before the fire was put out at 11:41 p.m., although there was significant damage by then.
Article continues after this advertisementA resident, 19-year-old Joyskie Balbareno, was treated for an open wound on his right wrist but no fatalities have been reported so far.
Fire officials are still investigating the cause of the blaze and determining the extent of property damage. —RUSSEL LORETO
