MANILA, Philippines — The prevailing northeast monsoon or “amihan” and the easterlies will bring rain over parts of Luzon and Mindanao on Tuesday, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

“Over areas ng Aurora and Quezon posible pong makaranas ng scattered rain showers or thunderstorms,” said weather specialist Rhea Torres in Pagasa’s latest forecast.

“Samantalang magiging maaliwalas pa rin ang panahon sa bahagi ng Northern Luzon liban na lang ng mga tiyansa ng pag ulan o pag ambon,” she added.

(While the weather will remain generally fair in the northern part of Luzon, except for the chances of isolated rain or drizzle.)

Fair weather is likewise expected over the rest of Luzon, along with hot and humid temperatures and chances of rain due to isolated thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, overcast skies and rain are expected to prevail over the eastern sections of Mindanao.

“Posibleng makaranas ng pag ulan mostly eastern sections ng Mindanao so diyan po sa Caraga and Davao region posible po ‘yung mga kalat kalat na pag ulan,” said Torres.

(There is a possibility of rain, particularly in the eastern sections of Mindanao, so scattered rain showers are possible in the Caraga and Davao regions.)

But the rest of Mindanao and the entire Visayas would enjoy generally fair weather conditions.

Torres said that apart from amihan and the easterlies, Pagasa is currently not monitoring any weather disturbances entering or forming within the Philippine area of responsibility.
