Senator Trillanes to run for re-election under Aquino slate

MANILA, Philippines—Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Thursday confirmed that he will run under the line-up of the Liberal Party, to which President Aquino belongs, in next year’s elections.
Trillanes made the confirmation during the Kapihan sa Senado press forum.
“I was invited and I accepted, so I expect to be running with the administration slate,” Trillanes told reporters.
“I am an ally of the president so it is just natural for me to run under his slate,” the senator added.

However, he said that although he is an ally of Aquino, Trillanes said he will not join the LP but will run as an independent candidate.
“Adopted lang ako sa administration slate. I will still run as an independent,” Trillanes clarified.
