LPA to bring rains to Visayas, Mindanao

Parts of Visayas and Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to a low pressure area (LPA), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Thursday. It advised residents in areas affected by the LPA, namely Mindanao, Central Visayas, Negros Occidental and Southern Leyte, to take precautionary measures and monitor weather updates due to possible flash floods or landslides caused by moderate to at times heavy rains. Pagasa said the rest of Visayas would experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the trough of the LPA or localized thunderstorms. —RUSSEL LORETO
