Beware of illegal online child adoption groups – NACC

MANILA, Philippines — The National Authority for Child Care (NACC) on Tuesday advised the public to beware of certain social media pages offering to facilitate child adoption processes. 

“Ang NACC ay nananawagan sa publiko upang i-report ang mga Facebook pages at groups na nagsasagawa ng illegal adoption services,” it said in its advisory.

(NACC is urging the public to report Facebook pages and groups that offer facilitation and  illegal adoption services.)

“Maaring ipagbigay-alam sa aming ahensya, o i-report sa Facebook ang mga page o groups na nagsasagawa ng ganitong ilegal na gawain,” it continued.

It also said that those who want to adopt children can approach it or the Regional Alternative Child Care Office (RACCO) to undergo the legal adoption process.

“Makipag-ugnayan lamang sa aming ahensya, NACC at RACCO, para sa mga impormasyon tungkol sa legal adoption at foster care,” it added.
