VP may be testing waters with poll bid announcement – Marcos

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. on Tuesday said that Vice President Sara Duterte is likely testing the waters following her announcement that she will run in the next elections. 

 Duterte was Marcos’ running mate in the 2022 national elections, running under the “Uniteam” banner.

“I think she’s also testing the waters to see what the reaction will be. I haven’t talked to her about it. ‘Did you hear that Inday Sara announced?’ Yes, okay,” said Marcos in an exclusive interview on 24 Oras.

Duterte did not specify what position she is seeking. 

The midterm elections is scheduled in 2025. Duterte’s term as vice president is until 2028.
