Jinggoy hopeful for favorable Sandiganbayan decision on plunder case

Senator Jinggoy Estrada said on Thursday that he is “hopeful” and nervous at the same time about the outcome of his pending plunder case before the Sandiganbayan anti-graft court.

MANILA, Philippines — Senator Jinggoy Estrada said on Thursday that he is “hopeful” and nervous at the same time about the outcome of his pending plunder case before the Sandiganbayan anti-graft court.

The promulgation of Estrada’s case is set on Friday, January 19.

“I hope it will be favorable. I’m keeping my fingers crossed,” Estrada said in a briefing with reporters.

“Hopefully tomorrow, I hope to get a favorable decision,” he added.

Estrada also described the case as a “sword of Damocles,” an idiom that connotes uncertainty, which affected him and his family.

“It affected me, it affected my whole family. Hangga’t hindi pa nareresolve itong kaso ko, siyempre parang sword of Damocles hanging over my head.” he continued.
