‘Falcon’ wrought P164 M worth of damages to agriculture and infra in PH, says NDRRMC
MANILA, Philippines – Estimated damages of tropical storm “Falcon” (international name: MAERI) has reached P163.75 million, the state-run disaster management council said Tuesday.
In its latest situation report, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said that damages to infrastructure in the provinces of Zambales and Albay were estimated to be at P30.86 million.
Meanwhile damages to crops, livestock and fisheries in Albay, Camarines Sur, Bulacan, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga and Zambales have been estimated at P132.89 million, the NDRRMC said.
The NDRRMC also said that 120 houses were totally damaged while 1,162 were partially damaged in the National Capital Region, Region , Region 4-A, Region 5 and Region 6.
A total of 248,318 families or 1.188 million persons have been affected by flooding incidents in 853 villages in 80 towns and 21 cities. Meanwhile, 28,784 families or 125,949 persons of these affected population are still residing in 143 designated evacuation centers, the NDRRMC said.
The DRRMC also dentified casualties as: Ranny Bernardo of Sto. Nino, Hagonoy, Bulacan; Fedelito Muana, Jr. of Barangay (village) East Bajac-bajac, Olongapo City; Marlon Jay Musni of Sta. Cruz, Mexico, Pampanga; Ricardo Galang of Santa Maria, Sta. Ana also of Pampanga and Jon Paul Alcantara or Baangay Tatala, Binangonan, Rizal. All the fatalities died due to drowning, the NDRRMC said.

Article continues after this advertisementThe NDRRMC identified the missing fishermen as: Antonio Avila Bailon, Jason Balingit, Pedro Balingit, Nestor Tapit Mandasoc, Jonsy Rodriguez, Denver Sta. Ines, Paquito Tabios, Prospero Tabios, Rolando Sarmiento Tabios and Vicente Rodriguez Tapit, all fishermen from Barangay San Vicente, Virac, Catanduanes.
Also missing are Rosa Belga Ordan, 54, who was swept away by raging waters in Sitio Buga, Barangay Basag, Ligao City, Albay; Angelica Recome of Golden City Subdivision, Rizal; Glen Villarmino of Sta. Rosa I, Marilao, Bulacan, Jerry Miguel of Rivera, Hermosa, Bataan and Vicente Yossayos Poblacion Sadanga, Mt. Province.
