4.2-magnitude quake hits Sarangani municipality in Davao Occidental
MANILA, Philippines — A 4.2-magnitude earthquake hit the municipality of Sarangani, Davao del Sur on Wednesday evening, the state seismology bureau reported.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the epicenter of the earthquake was located in the sea west of Balut Island, in the Municipality of Sarangani. It had a depth of focus of 36 kilometers.

Intensity II was felt in General Santos City, and Malapatan in Sarangani.

- Intensity III – City of General Santos
- Intensity II -Alabel, Sarangani and T’Boli, South Cotabato
- Intensity I – Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental; Malapatan and Maitum, Sarangani Lake Sebu, South Cotabato
No damages nor aftershocks were to be expected from the quake, Phivolcs added.
