594 pass chemists licensure exam, PRC announces
MANILA, Philippines — The Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) announced Wednesday that 594 of the 1,148 examinees passed the Chemists Licensure Examination.
The University of the Philippines – Diliman was named the top-performing school for having more than 50 examinees and an 80 percent passing rate, achieving an 83.08 percent pass rate.
Krizia Mae Ignacio of Visayas State University-Baybay was the batch’s topnotcher, earning a 92.60 percent rating. Richard Biescas of Central Mindanao University followed in second place with a 91.25 percent rating, and Larz Emmanuel Labsan from the University of the Philippines – Diliman ranked third with an 89.70 percent rating.
Concurrently, the PRC announced that 2,600 of 3,138 examinees passed the Chemical Technicians Licensure Examination.
Both the Technological University of the Philippines – Visayas and the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila were named top-performing schools, each achieving a 100 percent passing rate.

Article continues after this advertisementFour examinees tied for the second-highest score of 92 percent: Shaun Patrick Albao of Eastern Visayas State University – Tacloban; Arianne Joy Beluan of Visayas State University – Baybay; Ryan Christian Morales of Saint Louis University; and Jonathan Tapulao of Polytechnic University of the Philippines – Sta. Mesa.
Similarly, three examinees tied for the third-highest score of 91.50 percent: Kyle Dupa of the University of the Philippines – Los Baños; Arjay Nambatac of Xavier University; and Geicel Salaya of the Technological University of the Philippines – Visayas.
The PRC added that those who did not pass the Chemist examination can register as a Chemical Technician, provided they obtained a 70 percent rating in any two subjects.
“Those who failed to pass the board examination for Chemist but obtained a rating of at least 70% in any two subjects can register as Chemical Technician,” the PRC stated in its announcement.
The date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the successful examinees will be announced later.
