UP, 4 other PH universities in British sustainability rankings
MANILA, Philippines — Five Philippine universities qualified for the 2024 edition of the British higher education network Quacquarelli-Symonds (QS) Sustainability rankings.
QS released the results on Tuesday.
Leading the list is the University of the Philippines (UP), which placed 231st, followed by the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) at 593rd, De La Salle University (DLSU) at the 981-1000 rank, University of Santo Tomas (UST) at the 1001-1050 bracket and Mapúa University in the 1201+ bracket.
ADMU, UST and Mapúa University entered the rankings for the first time.
In the 2023 edition, UP landed in the 401-450 bracket, while DLSU was in the 601+ bracket.
Article continues after this advertisementMeanwhile, the University of Toronto in Canada led the list, followed by the University of California-Berkeley and the University of Manchester, at second and third places, respectively.

QS said that its criterion for determining the rankings include environmental impact, social impact and governance.
