LPG, kerosene price freeze in Malita, Davao Occidental
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Energy (DOE) imposed a price freeze on household liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and kerosene products in Malita, Davao Occidental which was placed under a a state of calamity (SOC)
An SOC pursuant to Sangguniang Bayan Resolution No. 110 was raised on December 1 due to continuous heavy rains and flooding in the municipality.
“Thus, a price freeze for household LPG in cylinders (11 Kg and below) and kerosene products is now in effect and will remain valid for 15 days upon the declaration of the SOC,” DOE said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
The price freeze is effective from December 1 to 15.
DOE reminded the public that during a price freeze, goods must be sold at the prices that were in place before an SOC was declared.
“Any rollback of prices however shall be implemented while price increases are strictly prohibited within the 15-day period counted from the day of the SOC implementation,” it added.
