1&1, Aegis off to sizzling starts
THE 1&1 INTERNET Inc. Marauders and the Aegis Vipers got off to flying starts after posting separate wins last Monday in the northern conference of the 2012 Sun Cellular E-League for Basketball at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym.
The Marauders tripped the Bankers, 71-63, behind the 36 combined points of Mark Louise Gellez and Raymond Basañez. Gellez wound up with 19 points, while Basañez had 17.
Rengie Cabanday led the Bankers with 13 points, Marvin Roma added 11, while Giovanni Arnaiz finished with 11.
The Vipers, on the other hand, leaned on the 20-point showing of Clifford Amarado to dump the Qualfon Knights, 73-51.
Dean Junber Escalon and Ryan Veloso backed Amarado with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
Jopher Regidor paced the Knights with 11 markers.
