Man stabbed dead during drinking session in Quezon

LUCENA CITY — A man was killed Sunday night after he refused to continue drinking liquor in Tiaong town in Quezon province.

The Quezon police reported that Rogelio Cueno, 34, was having a drink around 5 p.m. with his brother-in-law, identified as Noriel, 56, in Barangay Tamisian. Cueno eventually told Noriel that he had enough and wanted to go home, but was punched by the latter.

Noriel’s brother, Wilson, 39, was awakened from his sleep by the commotion, chased Cueno, and repeatedly stabbed him in different parts of the body. The siblings fled after the stabbing.

Cueno was rushed to a hospital in neighboring San Pablo City, Laguna, but died along the way.

Investigators said personal grudge was the motive behind the killing. Police launched a manhunt to arrest the suspects. INQ
