Mom gives birth inside a police station in Cebu City

CEBU CITY — A saleswoman of a mall here gave birth inside a police station while on her way to the nearest medical facility on Friday, November 10.

Gleecy Villastev successfully delivered at 5:45 p.m. a healthy baby girl inside the Mabolo Police Station, according to Major Eraño Regidor.

Regidor, chief of the Mabolo police station, said Gleecy’s live-in partner, Stev de Jesus, a bus conductor, sought their help at around 5 p.m. to help take his partner to the nearest medical facility as she was about to give birth.

The Mabolo police were about to transport Villastev to the facility but they noticed that she was already on the verge of giving birth, prompting them to attend to the woman inside the police station.

Among those who helped were Lieutenant Raymart Rabanes; Staff Master Sergeant Gilbert Igot; Staff Sergeants Fernan Omolon, Christian Tabotabo, and Benjie Saladaga; Corporal Jerome Torreon; and their non-uniform personnel Melody Tabotabo.

The infant was then taken to the medical facility for proper care.
