San Juan City gets DILG’s Urban Governance Exemplar Award

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) recognized several local government units (LGUs) in the National Capital Region (NCR) for their outstanding performance in various functionality assessments during the 2023 Urban Governance Exemplar Awards.   Among the top-performing cities was San Juan City, which received several recognitions.

Recognition for the Local Legislative Award

San Juan City also received an average rating of 93.5% for the 2023 Local Legislative Award, making the 6th City Council the 3rd runner-up for the entire NCR.

Mayor Francis Zamora personally accepted the awards along with Vice Mayor Angelo Agcaoili, Councilor Kit Peralta, DILG City Director Engr. Perla Upano, Sangguniang Panlungsod Secretary Ria Padilla, CSWD Officer Portia Esquillo, CENRO Chief Gab Katigbak, and CADAC focal person Anthony Tecson.

The mayor expressed his gratitude to the DILG for recognizing the initiatives and efforts of the Makabagong San Juan. He also commended the city’s employees for their dedication to public service.
