TAGBILARAN CITY — The University of Philippines Society of Geodetic Engineering Majors on Tuesday congratulated its alumna for ranking second in the geodetic engineer licensure examinations.

Genny Marie Geñoso, a native of Barangay Cabawan in Maribojoc town, Bohol, got a score of 89.40 percent.

She graduated with high honors from the Tagbilaran Science High School in 2019.

“Heartfelt congratulations on this outstanding achievement. Your UP GEOP family is proud of you! Padayon, Engineer,” it said in a Facebook post.

Joshua Carl Mari Fajardo from the University of Southeastern Philippines-Davao City got the top spot with a rating of 89.60 percent.

Another UP-Diliman topnotcher Aubrey Lalaine Lomibao placed fourth with a score of 88.60 percent.

Last August, Geñoso graduated summa cum laude along with other five students.

She is interested in working with projects that use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing. However, she is still open to learning new things and further cultivating her geospatial skills.

In a Facebook post, Bohol Gov. Aris Aumentado congratulated Geñoso.

“You’re a pride of Boholanos, and you will serve as an inspiration to others who will try to achieve their dreams in life.,” said Aumentado said in Boholano.

Geñoso will receive P75,000 from the provincial government of Bohol as cash incentive for Boholanos who make it to the top ten of professional licensure exams.

Meanwhile, Chris Alfred Yntong of the Bohol Island State University (BISU) – Candijay campus placed sixth place in the October 2023 Licensure Examination for Fisheries Professionals Examination.
