Malabon: Tugatog Public Cemetery redevelopment almost halfway done

MANILA, Philippines —The redevelopment of the Tugatog Public Cemetery is 43 percent complete but will be opened to the public for “undas.”
“Patuloy ang pagsasaayos sa Tugatog Cemetery at 57% pa ang kailangan natin tapusin bago ito muling mabuksan sa publiko,” the Malabon City government said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
(The redevelopment of Tugatog Cemetery is still ongoing and is 57% away from completion, before it is opened to the public.)
The cemetery, however, will be open for “undas”starting on October 29.
“Bukas ito simula October 29, 2023 upang magbigay daan sa ating mga Malabueños na makapagbigay-pugay at ipakita ang kanilang pagmamahal sa mga yumao nilang mahal sa buhay,” the city government added.
(It will be open starting October 29 to allow Malabon folk to remember their dearly departed loved ones.)
“Ang lokal na pamahalaan ay bumuo ng Wall of Remembrance kung saan nakalagay ang lahat ng pangalan ng mga nakahimlay sa Tugatog Cemetery nang sa gayon sama-sama tayong magbigay-pagkilala at paggalang sa mga yumao,” it added.
(The local government has erected a Wall of Remembrance with the names of all those interred in the cemetery so we can all remember and pay our respects to the departed.)
