Former solicitor general withdraws nomination for Ombudsman position

MANILA, Philippines — Former Solicitor General Francisco Chavez has withdrawn his nomination for the ombudsman position vacated by Merceditas Gutierrez last month.

Chavez withdrew his nomination after conferring with his family.

He is one of the 27 candidates for the Ombudsman position supposed to be interviewed by the judicial and bar council.
