SWS: 45% of Filipinos think quality of life didn’t change since last year

Most Filipinos think that the quality of life has not changed since 12 months ago, according to the Social Weather Stations (SWS) on Tuesday.

MANILA, Philippines — Most Filipinos think that the quality of life has not changed since 12 months ago, according to the Social Weather Stations (SWS) on Tuesday.

In its survey, 45 percent of adult Filipinos said that the quality of life did not change from 12 months ago, while 33 percent said quality of life was better, termed by the SWS as “Gainers,” and on the other hand, the remaining 22 percent said that quality of life worsened, termed by the SWS as “Losers.”

The polling company marked the Net Gainer score to be at +11, which is classified as “very high,” which increased from the March 2023 net Gainer score of +5, which merited a “high” classification.

Meanwhile, the SWS said that the number of Net Gainers were very high in non-hungry families (+13), while the number was fair in overall hungry (+1), moderately hungry (+4), and severely hungry families (-18).

Net Gainers also notched a +30 score among those who were Not Poor, which is classified excellent, +18 among the Borderline Poor, classified as very high, and -4 among the Poor, classified as fair.

The SWS conducted its survey from June 28-July 1 with 1,500 adults.

According to the SWS, 13 percent of its respondents came from Metro Manila, 45 percent were from Luzon outside Metro Manila, termed Balance Luzon, 19 percent were from Visayas, and 23 percent were from Mindanao.

It also marked error margins to be at  ±2.5 percent for national percentages, ±4.0 percent in Balance Luzon, and ±5.7 percent each for Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
