MANILA, Philippines — Philippine authorities have stopped the entry of a man previously convicted of child pornography in Hawaii.

The Bureau of Immigrations (BI) reported Monday that Ronald Huy Young was barred from entering the Philippines for violating the Philippine Immigration Act of 1940, which prohibits foreign nationals previously convicted of crimes involving moral turpitude from entering the country.

Citing records of the Hawaii Criminal Justice Data Center, the BI said Young pleaded guilty to electronic enticement of a child in the first degree. The information also indicated that in 2008, Young was sentenced by the First Circuit Court in Hawaii to 10 years of imprisonment.
