MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) on Tuesday said it is continuing to conduct its services manually following the hacking of its website and online service portals last week.

Israel Francis Paragas, senior vice president of PhilHealth, said the agency has been on manual operations since Friday.

“But we are expecting that by today or until tomorrow we may already [reactivate] some of our systems for us to be able to use them again,” he added.

“We apologize for this incident but as of now the operations of PhilHealth continue, even if manually. In the next few days, we promise to restore our system,” Paragas said.

According to the PhilHealth official, 72 workstations of the agency were affected by the Medusa ransomware hacking, affecting the website, e-claim system, members’ portal, and collection system.
