According to Badrina, “Inaasahan po natin sa araw na ito na malaki ang tyansa ng pag-ulan partikular na sa Mimaropa, kasama din ang bahagi ng Cavite, Batangas, Zambales, at Bataan.”

Cloudy skies with high chances of rain are forecast for most Visayas on Monday due to the southwest monsoon and the trough or extension of the low-pressure area (LPA) in the eastern part of the country, Pagasa also noted.

The state weather service warned of possible flash floods and landslides in low-lying areas where rains are likely.

As for the LPA located in the western part of the archipelago, Pagasa said it continues to move away from the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR). It likewise said that chances of a cyclone entering the PAR before September ends remain low.

Pagasa further said that small sea vessels are safe to sail as there are no gale warnings issued over the country’s seaboard.

But Badrina reminded sea travelers to proceed cautiously because waves may suddenly swell during thunderstorms.
