“Continuous upwelling at the Taal Main Crater Lake formed steam plumes that rose 3,000 meters high before drifting to the north-northwest,” it said.

“Vog has been affecting the Taal Region since the first week of September 2023 as degassing activity from Taal volcano continues to date,” it added.

Some of them experienced chest pains and difficulty in breathing.

Currently, the volcano is on Alert Level 1 – a state of low volcanic unrest.
