Seniors, PWDs get free PNR rides in celebration of Peñafrancia Festival

The fluvial procession ends the novena feast of the city. The image of “Ina” is carried in a decorated shrine-barge called pagoda, with ropes tied in boats to return its journey to the Basilica Minore, where Pontifical Mass is held. Bicolano folk said that no woman may board to the pagoda with “Ina” as this might spell disaster. On September 14, 2023, the Department of Transportation says the Philippine National Railways will give free rides to senior citizens and persons with disabilities from September 16-17 in celebration of the Peñafrancia Festival. MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Railways (PNR) will give free rides to senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) from September 16-17 in celebration of the Peñafrancia Festival.
According to the Department of Transportation (DOTr), the PNR routes covered by the free rides are Naga-Ligao-Naga and Naga-Sipocot-Naga.
It said in a statement Thursday that senior citizens and PWD passengers only need to present their identification cards to avail of the free rides.
