MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte said that government services and education must be accessible to the public to prevent the spread of terrorism.

According to the Office of the Vice President’s statement on Tuesday, Duterte, who is also the concurrent Education secretary, believes that good governance is the key to peace.

The Vice President cited her bailiwick of Davao City as an example of how accessible government services assisted in the fight against insurgency.

“For Davao City, the successful end of our anti-insurgency campaign saw the impact of Peace 911. Insurgency-free Davao City also means Dabawenyos, especially those who are residing in Paquibato District, Marilog District, and Calinan District, are now able to sleep soundly at night,” Duterte said.
