Metro Manila on Wednesday sizzled anew at 36.2 degrees Celsius for the second consecutive day, even as the weather bureau forecast the entry of a low pressure area (LPA) in Mindanao.

The temperature was taken at around 1:58 p.m. at the Science Garden in Quezon City, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

The heat was just as scorching at the Port Area, Manila, which recorded 35.4°C and Ninoy Aquino International Airport, 35.3°C, as well as in Cabanatuan in Nueva Ecija which recorded 37°C; Tuguegarao in Cagayan, 36°C; Sangley in Cavite, 35.7°C; and Clark in Angeles, 35.2°C.

“Because of the ridge of high pressure area, we don’t have clouds to block the heat,” forecaster Gener Quitlong said by phone.
