Pagasa: A mix of rain showers and fair, warm Sunday weather
MANILA, Philippines — Overcast skies and scattered rain showers are expected in parts of Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao due to the southwest monsoon or “habagat,” while fair, warm weather will prevail elsewhere on Sunday, the state weather bureau said.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), in its early morning update, said the “habagat” would specifically affect Palawan, Kalayaan Islands, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.
“Itong southwest monsoon ang patuloy na nagdudulot ng maulap na kalangitan na may kalat kalat na pagulan, pagkulog at pagkidlat sa kanlurang bahagi ng southern Luzon, Visayas, at Mindanao,” Pagasa weather specialist Daniel James Villamil said.

“Samantalang sa Metro Manila at nalalabing bahagi ng ating bansa ay mas maaliwalas na panahon ang ating inaasahan, may kainitan pa rin ang ating panahon lalong lalo na sa tanghali may tiyansa uli tayo ng thunderstorms simula hapon hanggang gabi,” he added.

No gale warning was raised over any of the country’s seaboards, Villamil said.
