Finally, clear skies in Metro Manila but rain to persist in some parts of Luzon
MANILA, Philippines — After days of rain caused by typhoons and the southwest monsoon, Metro Manila and other parts of the country will experience generally fair weather today, August 5.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), Metro Manila will mostly see clear skies despite localized thunderstorms from afternoon to evening.

(The southwest monsoon continues to prevail in the western part of Luzon, so we will still experience cloudy skies, with scattered rain, thunder, and lightning in the provinces – in the Ilocos Region, Abra , Benguet, as well as Zambales and Bataan.)
Pagasa further reported that is not seeing any weather systems forming within and outside the Philippine area of responsibility as of now.
However, gale warnings is still raised over the seaboards of Batanes, Ilocos Norte, Cagayan, and Babuyan Islands. Fisherfolk in these areas were advised to avoid sailing as moderate to rough sea conditions are expected due to the southwest monsoon.
