Bodies of 2 pilots retrieved from Apayao crash site
TUGUEGARAO CITY – The bodies of the instructor-pilot and student-pilot have been recovered after their ill-fated Cessna plane crashed in Apayao province two days ago.
The body of 24-year-old Capt. Edzel John Tabuzo was turned over to his family, while the body of student-pilot Anshum Rajkumar Konde, 20, would be turned over to the Indian Embassy.
Soldiers from the 17th Infantry Battalion, local police, firefighters, and emergency volunteers found the aircraft’s wreckage in a forested area of Barangay Salvacion in Pudtol, Apayao using a drone.
The aircraft took off from Laoag City and was bound for Tugeugaraa when it was reported missing on Tuesday.
