Warriors shock Patriots at home

/ 07:30 AM April 23, 2012

THE VISITING Indonesian Warriors showed no mercy as they pummelled an undermanned AirAsia Philippine Patriots squad, 104-79, in the ASEAN Basketball League late Saturday evening at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The Warriors took advantage of the Patriots, who played with just one import with the departure of Chris Alexander, who abandoned the squad for reasons unknown as of the moment.

The loss was the second in a row for the Patriots, who  now find themselves tied for the lead in the standings with the San Miguel Beermen.

The Beermen were battling the Thailand Slammers as of presstime.

With only the 6-foot-5 Anthony Johnson manning the shaded lane, the Patriots found themselves helpless as Indonesia’s American imports Evan Brock and Steve Thomas, both standing at 6-foot-9, imposed their will to beat the Patriots for the first time in Manila. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
