PCG: More than 9,600 people stranded in ports due to Egay

MANILA, Philippines —More than 9,600 people remain stranded in ports in Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Calabarzon and Metro Manila due to super typhoon Egay (international name Doksuri), the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said on Tuesday.

As of 8 a.m., the PCG said out of the 9,682 passengers, truck drivers and cargo helpers, 5,889 are from Bicol Region; 2,214 from Eastern Visayas; 1,199 from Calabarzon; and 380 passengers from Metro Manila.

Also, 834 rolling cargoes and 27 motorbancas remain stranded in the said four regions, while 102 vessels and 61 motorbancas are taking shelter in the areas.
