BRITISH FOUND DEAD AT HOME
A 64-YEAR-OLD British national was found dead in his house in Agro-Macro Subdivision in barangay Cabanclan, Mandaue City.
Clifford Smart, who had been suffering from a liver disease, was found dead in his room by househelper Ybony Agudare, the niece of Smart’s wife Analy.
His wife was in Camotes Island during the incident.

Article continues after this advertisementGerardo Layuguin, 40, and his 38-year-old brother Pastor sustained gunshot wounds in the knees and arms.
Police said Gerardo drove to Greenfield Inayawan on a motorcycle to pick up Pastor past midnight.
When he reached F. Jaca Street, Gerardo saw Pastor arguing with two men.
Gerardo was about to approach his brother when the two men shot Pastor then turned to Gerardo and also shot him several times.

2 MEN HURT IN CARRETA SHOOTING
TWO men were hospitalized after they were shot in barangay Carreta, Cebu City.
Jefrey Villanueva, 20, and Heracleo Manatad, 20, were wounded in the legs.
The assailant was identified as a certain Marjun, who fled after the incident.
Police said Villanueva was driving a bicycle with Manatad as backrider when they heard Marjun calling them angrily.
Villanueva didn’t stop after seeing that Marjun was armed. The assailant chased the two men, shot them and fled.

MAN FOUND HANGING DEAD
AN UNEMPLOYED man was found hanging dead from an ipil-ipil tree in Barili town, southwest Cebu.
Police said Dennis Ricaplaza used a nylon rope in hanging himself.
Before he was found dead, Ricaplaza and his wife argued iat home past 9 p.m. last Thursday.
Police said the wife confronted his husband about his gambling.

CAR HITS BOY
AN 8-YEAR-OLD boy was wounded after he was hit by a pickup car while crossing the road in barangay Poblacion, Alegria town, southern Cebu.
The boy was walking to school when the accident occurred around 8 a.m. yesterday.
The pickup was driven by Joseph Faceol, driver of Landbank of the Philippines Leasing Corp. based in Carcar City. The bank manager was riding on board.
Faceol admitted to police that the car was running at high speed because the bank manager was catching up with an appointment.
Faceol brought the boy to the Reinhard Wirtgen Memorial Hospital. Police released Faceol after he reached an amicable settlement with the boy’s parents./CORRESPONDENT RHEA RUTH V. ROSELL
MAN DROWNS OFF BOGO
THE body of a 50-year-old man was found floating in the waters off barangay Sto. Rosario, Bogo City, northern Cebu.
Police said Gerardo Atillo was last seen alive gathering seashells in the shore of sitio Triplain between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. last Thursday.
