Fire guts 20 houses in Quezon City blaze

MANILA, Philippines -The fire that hit a shanty community on Agham Road in Quezon City Friday was put under control, an officer from the National Capital Region Bureau of Fire Protection said.

Sergeant Benny Balingit said the blaze, which broke out at 1:44 p.m., reached Task Force Alpha before it was contained at 2:50 p.m.

While the exact number of houses damaged by the fire is yet to be determined by investigators, Balingit said that Task Force Alpha means that more than 20 houses have already been destroyed.
