Chedeng exits PAR but rains to continue in parts of Luzon
Severe Tropical Storm “Chedeng” (international name: Guchol) exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) late Sunday evening but rains may continue in some parts of Luzon until today due to the southwest monsoon.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the southwest monsoon will affect northern and Central Luzon, bringing cloudy skies with scattered rainfalls and thunderstorms in Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Ilocos region, Zambales and Bataan.
Pagasa warned residents in these areas of possible flash floods or landslides due to heavy and intense rains.
In Metro Manila, the state weather bureau said fair weather could be expected on Tuesday with chances of sudden rain showers because of thunderstorms.
Visayas and Mindanao are also expected to have fair weather conditions except for isolated or localized thunderstorms.
