Earthquake shakes Isabela town anew
CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela — Still reeling from two earthquakes with 5.1 and 5.8 magnitudes in the past week, the town of Maconacon in this province was again struck by a 3.4-magnitude earthquake on Thursday, May 11.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported that the earthquake hit 58 kilometers off Maconacon at 11:39 a.m. with a 30-km depth of focus, noting that it was tectonic in origin.
Afershocks have been recurring after the past two temblors.
There were no reports of damage, the Phivolcs said. INQ
