Ex-Pagcor chief granted 2 days for evidence
The Sandiganbayan has given former Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor) chair Efraim Genuino two hearing dates so he can present evidence on two out of the 39 criminal charges he is facing in court. According to the court, Genuino intends to testify on the authorship of the signatures that appeared on the documents presented against him. Prosecutors did not interpose any objection to Genuino’s motion, prompting the Sandiganbayan to set the continuation of the reception of the defense’s evidence on June 26 and July 3, both to be held at 8:30 a.m. The 39 charges stemmed from allegedly illegal donations and payments amounting to P44 million to certain private organizations. —DEMPSEY REYES
