Man charged with murder shot dead in Quezon province

LUCENA CITY — A 23-year-old man, who was previously charged with murder, was shot and killed on Wednesday in Candelaria town in Quezon province.
The Candelaria police reported on Thursday, April 20, that the body of John Peter de Villa was found on Wednesday morning lying on the roadside beside his motorcycle in Barangay Malabanban Norte.
Investigators said the victim suffered multiple bullet wounds on the head and body.
The report said de Villa had been previously charged with murder but did not state why and when he was freed. The report also did not provide details on the murder charge.
An investigation is ongoing to establish the motive behind the killing.
Police launched a manhunt operation to arrest the assailant.
